Position Title: Commercial HVAC Service Manager

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Commercial HVAC Service Manager to build, lead, and scale their growing commercial service department. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee day-to-day commercial operations, lead and develop field technicians, drive customer satisfaction, and utilize key performance metrics to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development:
• • Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and mentor field technicians to enhance technical capabilities, safety, and productivity.
  • Establish department performance standards and hold technicians accountable for quality of work, cleanliness, and professionalism.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and team meetings.
• Service Operations & Management:
• • Oversee daily commercial HVAC service operations, working closely with dispatch to assign the right technicians to appropriate calls.
  • Manage job documentation, work orders, and field operations using ServiceTitan.
  • Standardize and improve Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs, service processes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor and minimize job callbacks through effective technical troubleshooting and quality control measures.
• Customer Relationship Management:
• • Serve as the primary point of escalation for client inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with commercial clients, facility managers, and property management companies.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality customer service across all touchpoints.
• Financial & KPI Tracking:
• • Monitor department revenue, gross margins, labor efficiency, technician utilization, and job costing.
  • Utilize KPIs and performance data to drive operational decisions, pricing updates, and process improvements.
  • Partner with company leadership to set annual service department goals and growth strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service, with proven leadership, supervisory, or service management experience.
• Technical Expertise: Deep diagnostic and technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Software/Technology: Proficiency with field service management platforms ( ServiceTitan strongly preferred) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
• Business Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of service department financials, job costing, gross margins, and operational KPIs.
• Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
